No there aren't. He just plays through two distinct chains. There are two bass parts in some of the tracks, but most of them are just one bass part through two amps.

You just said yourself there's two parts in some tracks.

Believe me, there's nothing I don't know about the making of this album..
I don't see how two distinct signal paths can create alternate parts though!

Today I have been mostly playing Tool on my geetar.
I adore the Tool sound. The riffs are not actually difficult, it's the freaky timings that take all the practice!

I knew most peeps would recommend their mid to later stuff but for me you cannot beat Opiate and Undertow, Undertow from start to finish is superb and not bettered IMO.
