Default Reason midi automation in cubase - how?

When working from cubase I'm sick of of doing all my filter automation etc for reason instruments in the reason sequencer, and then having to cut and paste it all seperately as i dick around with the arragnement. However, I can't for the life of me work out how the hell to record my reason midi automation in cubase, no matter which way up i hold the manuals. I'd be very grateful if someone could shed some light.

If you have Reason rewired into Cubase wont the automation you do in Reason sync up with the Cubase midi anyway?

Try to do what theLord said.

"Lucky" sounds a bit like the disposable teens (guitar) and the beautiful people (the drums)

Thats what i do at the moment, but when i juggle with the arrangement in the cubase project window its a pain in the arse hainv to then go and move everything in reason as well. If i could do the automation in cubase i would only need to cut, paste and move an given section once. Seems strange that there isn't an easy way to do this - but i rewiring is not the same as using something as a vst instrument...

A fairly inevitable result when one applies swing to pounding tom pattern and sticks distorted guitars over it! All I need now is kylie on vocals...

you need to find out which midi cc is the correct one for the control your automating, then click the drop down bit on the track in cubase and change the control to the required midi controler number (its in the more options bit).

hope this helps, shouldn't be too taxing.

Hiya, god its been ages since I have been on here, I miss it to tell you the truth, I got so much needed knowledge. Anyway, I was wondering how to control the automation in reason with my Juno 106 as a controller, I am using it with my PC laptop and a little Tascam US122 soundcard.

    Cheers

How do I do that? When I try and record the reason automation into cubase i don't get any data showing on any of the midi cc's...

First thing - open up a new Midi lane in Cubase.

Now point it at the Reason device you are trying to control.

Hit the record button on this channel.

    Switch to Reason.

Right click on the control you are trying to adjust and select Midi Learn.

Now tweak the knob / fader on your controller.

That has linked your midi controller to your Reason device through Cubase.

Now hit Record on the transport bar and tweak away to your heart's content, the automation will be recorded in Cubase and can be edited as per usual.

    Hope that helps.
