need help with cubase!

right, hopefully someone can help. i've had a good scour of the preferences etc but cant work it out....

when i double click on a midi part in the arrange window it opens the piano roll and SOLOS the track. it didn't used to solo it, where is the option to turn it off?

this is really bugging me, every time i sit down to do some work i spend half an hour trying to change this, and never work it out!

Preferences>Record>Uncheck 'solo record in midi editors'.

I always turn off the option to solo selected track and record arm selected track too (Preferences>Editing), and it´s also a vwery good idea to disable the real time drawing of the waveform being recorded as this consumes resources during recording (also in the 'Record' section of preferences).

Or you could leave solo record in midi editors checked, and just hit the solo button in the top left of the midi editor window when you don't want it, or vice-versa, up to you.

If so, your Cubase is either fucked up or a cracked version. If it's fucked up you have to reinstall.

No he hasn't .
TFS is talking about options available under Preferences. I am simply talking about a button in the midi editor window(Solo Editor). This is not the same as the "solo record in midi editors".
Try it yourself. or see page 221 in the operations

i upgraded to cuabse 5 and the problem stopped. although i'll have a look at the above suggestion.
