Question Samplitude 10 SE on CM DVD better than MusicStudio 11?

    Hi

I have Magix Music Studio 11 already and I wondered if the Samplitude sw on this months DVD offered any advantages - I work mainly with midi so that would be the area I am particularly interested in. In particulr does Samplitude allow you to use several sounds on a multi timbral instrument without having to have several instances of the VST loaded which is the main drawback to MS 11 for me.

If Samplitude is an improvement on MS 11 is there a way of obtaining the authorisation key if my music PC is not on the web as it comes up with the authorisation screen as part of the programme opening sequence

Thanks in advance for any advice

I'm almost certain that Samp10 SE will support multi-output synths, but I'll admit that I haven't played with it. Can't help with the serial number issue, tho.

I've been using Samp9 SE from a couple of years ago, and would really like a clear list of what's new / different / improved in v10, but in any case I'm looking forward to playing with it.

Can Tim or anyone else from CM help me out here please - I'd really like to try out Samplitude as there is not much else on this issue's disc that grabs me! (oh & by the way more world/ethnic samples would be nice sometime soon!)

    Cheers

I'm afraid your PC must be online to register Samplitude 10 SE - sorry!

I'm not sure about multi-output instruments I'll have a check later

Yes, you can use multi-output instruments and each out has its own mixer track and all that good stuff

    Is this absolute ?

My DAW NEVER touches the dirty WWW !

    This could be a deal-breaker !

    Tim,
I have never tried this but since Magix "simply" gives you an activation code (well after a dental xray and a DNA profile if it is 6months down the line and your hdd's broke!) why can't you store that on a usb stick and carry it to the offline pc?

I can see that Mags will "think" the online pc has Sam on it and you won't be able to do it twice but I don't see that it would not work?

I cannot see there being much danger of having a DAW pc online for the duration, once I yank the RJ45 the net can G.T.H!

The registration process actually occurs during the installation procedure, which won't complete until the product has been registered. As such you'll have to be on-line during installation, but once that's done you can indeed go off-line and not have to connect again.
