I was toying with the idea of pedal rental company for this purpose and also for studio use, but I'm not sure about pricing and the like and the legalities... and frankly I got bored and did something else ... if anyone wants to explore it though I'd like a T-rex delay and a MF-102 to rent ;0)

I think over-reaction (in this case) is not the appropriate phrase. What I'm going to say here will appear to be vindicating one "side" and villifying another "side", but I'm identifying a pattern of behaviour that does one person no good and for his own happiness I think Kev should learn to spot it and find a better way to achieve his potential - nothing to be ashamed of, we all do stuff like this:

Andi and Tim have reacted exactly as Kev wanted them to - in a game of "Kick me" his behaviour would have become more provocative if he hadn't got the response he was looking for. Kev said there was no reason for the forum police to get upset - why should they get upset? (Because they don't like being called forum police - he learnt that previously and chose to use that knowledge).

With his nugget of injustice extracted (Andi said "bullshit") he can milk sympathy from his audience - Hugh or Rob (in this case, but previously the forum at large when he left his band - grr that drummer and singer).

As I say I don't see this as right and wrong - but just innapropriate behaviour (from both sides) but one person is calling the shots, Tim and Andi can only stand well back and let their reputations be sullied or get called back into the game of "Kick me".

Rob, Hugh are named umpires and could pipe up - notice they've gone quiet, I think they're uncomfortable about being called to adjudicate.

The rest of us are welcome to stick our head above the parapet and be provoked like Tim and Andi if our view doesn't match.

    Does that make much sense?
I've 'gone quiet' as I'm actually quite busy today and therefore not been on the tinterweb a lot. As for being a member of Kev's 'audience', you'll have to explain that one to me I'm afraid? I'm quite sorry it's got to all this to be honest as I'm not here to incite, offend and/or cause trouble, I make that 100% clear. I was asked by Kev to provide a review of his clone pedal and this I duly carried out to the best of my ability, nothing more, nothing less.

If the moderators on here wish to close or delete this topic, I have no problems with that. It'd be nice if we could all get along a little better I think, regardless of the 'rights and wrongs' or 'who started it/ he called me names' nonsense.

Peace, love and good shoes to the masses,
    Hugh

I think it's good to have these reviews, it seems to have got thrown out of balance but I see no reason to lose all the useful information from your review in order to pretend we're none of us prone to short fuses or making gaffs. (just my opinion).

OK, sorry I accept that and see where you were going there. I just kind of read that like I was part of the clone pedal makers market or in some way involved in this clone making adventure alongside Kev.

Thanks for the words on the review as well, I would like to have made it a little more easier to read perhaps and deal more with the actual sounds of the unit a little better but I suppose for a first go, it's 'maybe' passable (Nev Marten doesn't have much to worry about methinks, Rob! lol)

    Cheers

FWIW, I thought the review was good. Obviously S/C's would've completed it, but I realise you're not a pro and probably don't have time for all that malarky.
None of you seem to understand; I'm not locked in here with you, you'll all locked in here with me.

The review was very good and supports the opinions I have of mine. it reacts very weel to pedals in front of it, I've tried the tubesporker in front of it today and it was ace, especially with the boost at the end. Every time I think about buying an HT-5 I play the Rock Box with the Laney and realise I don't actually need one. My other Nocaster ADD behaves excellently in front of it too with a different yet very complimentary sound. so at the mo it goes: Tubesporker--->ADD--->Rock Box. The Boost on the end gives me another level of volume (rather than dirt) to play with. Ace!

Having read the comments from Bill in the link above, I've just realised that in my review it was objective/subjective about what the sound was rather than comparing it to anything it may have been based on!

Yeah, I think they're in Bernes book. To be honest the other game is a "3 hand game" called "Aint it Awful".

I've not read the book - it can be seen I have an unhealthy propensity to observe (I'm not proud of that)... Berne rewrote it and in the second book alledgedly added a game about spotting his games, which I think is a warning about reading too much into other people's actions - essentially it's good for spotting my own negative behaviour, I just need to get past watching everyone else first
