Bloody hell. That's a woman! I'm impressed. Not just by that, but I also like the riffs and the willingness to go into 80's influenced cheesy melodic metal.

    Well done.

Cheers. I do like the old stuff too but have only just heard it. I also like the other bands you mentioned. Can you think of any
    thing else similar?

theres so much mate i could go on forever

some of it is cheesey some is fecking brutal depends what your into

try Dissection - later stuff is more melodic early stuff is bleak black/death metal proper legendary satanic metal band singer killed himself last year or something

Arsis - quite brutal tech melodic stuff from yanks i think

Kalmah - amazing melodic death metal with hints of viking metal recommended

Wintersun - awesome modelic death metal great stuff

Norther - kinda cheesy melodic death/ power metal great vocals shit lyrics

so so much stuff bands above are just off the top of my head there are not necessarily amazing although KALMAH rip it up! one of my faves best bet is search on you tube for melodic death metal and watch the vid compilations people do of there favourite bands great way ot find new ones

also you may be into viking and battle metal try searching for them a bit more power metal involved but usally have an elemtnt of folk / melodic death metal or back metal included

If death metal with a major quotient of 80s widdly cheese metal is the order, I'll state the obvious and say Children of Bodom.

Also, a big up for Soilwork, whom I like very muchly indeed.
