Many drummers I know, perhaps including myself, have an ilreflective mental age. Well two of them do at least.

Drummers are a bloody nuisance but they're generally more fun than guitarists - I mean who wants to spend hours talking shite about the tonal differences between poly and nitro finishes on guitars?

Anyway if we're looking for a bunch of weirdos to snigger about then there's no better target than bassists.

    Default social problems...

They have social problems because not everyone can actually understand what's going on through their heads. If you are really a good drummer and you are passionate about it, most likely, you would be thinking about drumming all day long without a care in the world about popular culture, fashion, or what not. It's something that normal people like me won't be able to understand.

My drummer has way to much energy, he doesn't practice anything other than extreme metal
because according to him everything else is either shit or boring. He's an amazing drummer, but he really get's on my nerves...

I couldnt think of anything more boring than playing "metal" in whatever form all day long. Dont get me wrong, i love metal. Just playing it is lame.

Lads all I can say is you been mixing with the wrong drummers.
I agree you have to be mental to be a drummer. But its a well known fact drummers are normally better looking than there fellow musicians and pull the birds at gigs without even trying.
Although there are some who can only count to two and go to the bar when asked to do a drum solo...guys you cant put all drummers in one category the worst musician is the egotistical guitarist control freak they are the pits......
