    I think the important thing would be not to hop back and forth when the other product get's new innovations, rather to wait. The new features in nuendo will find themselves in the next cubase version sooner or later.

    Probably the reason why we've seen hardly any feature improvements or re-additions in SX in over a year.

    Probably the reason SX was released without enough features and lots of loose ends."

    Nuendo is cubase sx with advanced video and postproduction etc.
    therefore nuendo has more features than sx and is steinbergs 'flagship' product --- whats the problem with this??!!

    The idea was that cubase sx would be based on nuendo, so that less time would be spent trying to fix problems for 2 entirely different programs -- unfortunately that hasn't worked, but imagine how much longer the updates would take if they kept the 2 programs v different.

    But we now only have 7 days to wait till 1.06, so hopefully they can re-gain everyones confidence then.

    Don't quite understand your prob clootie mate, sounds like you feel hard done by, if you 're not intrested in nuendo's extra features and so threrfore have sx tis all good? Whenever i pay a visit to the sx forum i start to feel anti steinberg but there are some idiots in there. I'm a happy sx user.

    regards,

    Tbh Groove youve just hit the nail on the head, with the SX Forums, usually Id just nip in for quick fixes. Last week though I spent a good few hours on there browsing & came away very negative. Some stuff people say is right though, but what narcs me is that [for me] SX is an expensive 'investment' which could have been 'sorted' a long time ago if it wasnt I believe for Nu 2 getting in the way...

    As I said Im with SX now for the long haul, once its fixed it will be a joy to work with [It is now, but certain things arent right as youll well know if you use it for any lenght of time]

    7 days you say for 1.06? You wouldnt fancy a £100 bet on that NOT happening would you mate? :mrgreen:

    Only joking, 7 days would be GREAT!!!

    [quote="clootie"]

    Two almost identical applications... [bar Nu 2's Video post prod., which Im not interested in]

    This is exactly the crux of the whole matter. You get the piece of software that does what you want to do. Nuendo has loads of video stuff and network drive support, omf etc etc.... if you dont need that then you dont need Nuendo. Buying something because its the flagship product is nonsense if it doesnt do what you want it for. I dont really understand peoples fury at all this. Cubase SX is SL with surround capabilities, Nuendo is SX with video craziness, just choose the one that suits what you want to do.... don't you think? :lol:
