Dave, to be fair, I also go through periods of convincing myself I'm not a good guitar player when I know I'm at least half-decent.
Dunno about the the metronome though, you're clearly beyond that stage (unless, of course, you're auditioning for Liquid Tension on the quiet ) Just a few days or maybe weeks of proper practise and you'll be sorted, and you know it ya flash t**t
