No idea but it's not a Fuzz Factory.

    Nowhere near it.

    it's a piss-take.

The reference to a flux-capacitor is one clue, and the 'opto coupled capacitor' which is also made-up.

Plus the schematic itself doesn't do anything remotely Fuzz-y (althoguh I don't pretend to know what it does do, or what that behemoth of a IC is that would probably not even fit in a FuzzFactory box...)

    Red ones are better.

The "Happy April 1st 2006" bit at the bottom kinda gives it away!

So anyone got any genuine links? Really wanna try this one.

Especially now I know how deadly it can be at a gig.

Rather than just build a clone, I'd personally suggest it'd be more interesting to set out to make something with a similar set of sounds. Any fuzz/overdrive circuit, coupled with a supply starve and feedback loop will get you glitchy/zippery/gated sounds. Add a pre-boost as well and you'll likely be able to get close to the FF sound-set.

To me that's far more interesting than just copying a schematic parrot-fashion. Parrots, of course, being renowned for their love of boutique pedals...

The Dano schem is basically a handful of circuit snippets put together in a nonsensical fashion with made-up component names and values attached. There's some clipping, some weird transformer stuff and (I think) a UART. It will not do anything useful, even if it does anything at all.

Cheers for the encouragment Kev, I'd happily build one (not as if I haven't build a lot of pedals in my time) but I've got family reasons with the new baby (I'd like not to go into) that I can't afford time at home to divert to pedal DIY - having a band practice this week is going to be a little luxury I think.

That does seem a good idea Sporky, although I am admittedly a novice when it comes to pedal building. My hope is that by building clones, I can gain confidence and a better understanding of how various circuits work. For example, with the ADD kit I got from Kev, I learned enough to figure out a couple of changes to make it more suitable to my needs.

I'd be happy to try your suggestion if you could recommend any reference sites/books/forums etc so I could understand what feedback loops and supply starves actually are!?
