I just didn't want to give the game away so kept that little nugget to myself!

Anyway - I sniffed your 1980/1978 combo out at 10 paces!

Wow, a seven-minute response time to a for sale Marshall, Kev. Where you having one dump or two hand shandies?
I listen to bands that don't even exist yet.

    ROFL?

You'll be lucky to get much more than that. Absolute maximum would be about £450.

It's not a vintage piece and there's loads of them kicking around. I know of about 6 similar amps on this forum alone.

Well you really don't want to know what Pete Oakley charged me for it some years ago. Hasn't had any real hammer whilst I had it. & He has valued it at more than I paid.

But If you think its lost that much value, then I'd simply hold onto it till it goes back up in value.

What did you pay and when?

Honestly, I bought one of these for a mate only 2 weeks ago so I'm not speaking randomly.

I'd personally keep it if you can. Yours to do as you wish but Kev's offer isn't that unfair for what the amp actually is. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have your amp than a lot of £2K + amps out there just now, no question but those amps are not like 60's Plexi's in terms of value.

That's not to say they won't go up in value however as time will march on these amps will become thin on the ground so potentially prices may rise. Like any 'investment' though they could also plummet, who knows? If you don't need the cash too badly like I said, I'd keep it and play it loud!

Good luck with the sale though

    Cheers

Hiya Hugh, thanks for the Gee up.

To be honest as I said in my initial post I'd rather not have to sell it & if it isn't worth what It ought to be considering what I paid a few years ago I'd hang onto it anyway. Its only that "Times is hard" right now. So If I'm not going to get offered what I need it really does make the desision to sell or not to sell even easier.

So yes I'm going to keep it & enjoy it when I get the opertunity. All I need is a 15th C electric Lute to plug into it...rofl.
