    Default CM#141 DVD Problem

    Hi all,

I recently got the new issue of CM to find the DVD will not play/open. I sent it back for a replacement, which arrived very promptly this morning, within the week

However, this DVD will also not start and I've never had any problems with the last few issues DVDs and other discs are playing fine so it's not my computer.

This may seem a bit random, but all I really want it for is Guitar Rig 3 LE, which sold this latest issue for me, as I'm really keen to try it out. Is there any way I could be sent the files? Although, I'm sure this isn't the done thing...

I have my reply letter from Future Publishing and could also show proof that I have the actual DVD. As I say, a bit random but I don't want to keep having to send them back to eagerly await and then it not work.

Any help would be fantastic, and I have to applaud the team for sending me out another so quickly!

If you follow the activations instructions starting on page 40 of the mag you'll receive a link to download the latest version of the software when you register with NI.

Sorry for the problems with the disc - if you PM me I'll make sure you get sent out another copy.

Just to let anyone know who may have done the same thing, if you have Guitar Rig Go (from new Music Tech) and try installing Guitar Rig 3LE too, it is just a nightmare.

I've since uninstalled Guitar Rig Go and successfully installed LE but now when I go to activate it, it's saying the service centre is not found. Also, LE decided to randomely install a whole new service centre, even though I already have one installed from when I put the Kore Player on my system. Guitar Rig Go worked fine using the existing service centre.

I'm so frustrated by this, I simply want to try LE now I know it has more features than Go!

I may uninstall everything again, hoping it doesn't now mess with my Kore Player but really don't know if I can be bothered.

Wow, both service centres which are now on my computer are telling me Guitar Rig LE is indeed activated, yet when I run it it asks me to activate and says the system ID and serial number don't match!

Any help would be much appreciated, I'm generally ok with computers and never had as annoying a problem as this before. Sorry to moan on guys but it's just such a ridiculous process for a free piece of software.

The great content you guys put on the discs is very much appreciated but is this activation stuff really that necessary? I mean, what's a few copies of a Lite version floating about the internet when anyone can just as easily torrent the full version anyway?

Here are the instructions from NI:

    1. Remember to have all your NI serial numbers at hand before proceeding.
    2. Please uninstall all versions of the Service Center using "Software" from the system preferences. Only deleting them won't work.
    3. Download and install the latest Service Center: http://co.native-instruments.com/ind...Service_Center
    4. Run the Service Center, log into your account and activate your products using the serial numbers.

Please let us know how you get on!

I uninstalled the Service Centre, downloaded and installed the newest version. Cool.

I unistalled both Guitar Rig LE3 and Guitar Rig Go.

Reinstalled Guitar Rig 3LE, went through activation, Service Centre tells me it's all good.

Open Guitar Rig 3 LE, asked to activate with the same message telling me the system id and serial number don't match.

As a result I can now no longer use my Kore player either, I have the password for it but not the activation key and I can't get a new one as this free edition of Kore seems to be no longer supported.

This has all been incredibly frustrating and fruitless and I am now left with none of the free NI software, I really enjoyed Kore too.

In short, it's all been a complete watse of time and I really cannot be bothered anymore.

I will be keeping away from any other NI Lite versions, it's just a completely ridiculous process...

Sorry of the inconvenience. All Guitar Rig 3 LE issues should be addressed direct to NI:

Please let us know if you still have trouble!
