    Thanks for posting. It's always interesting to compate notes.

    Personally I use a boss GT-10, connect it to my computer by USB - not any of my guitar leads because they're all cheap and nasty!

    Run it into cubase and some of the presets are great how they are, particularly the ones that take advantage of stereo signal - slightly different sound to each ear. Makes it sound really big.

    I've found this method a lot better than using guitar rig as I have been for a couple of years. Guitar rig is handy for boosting and limiting vocals and bass and general EQ work for me though.

    For years I did the whole mic-up-a-stack with a variety of amps and mics and never got such a rich sound as when my FX were plugged straight into the computer. I know a lot of people think that sounds processed but I'm an 80's child and processed sounds are sweet to my ears!!

    No worries, glad to post.

    Good to hear your method, ive plugged FX straight into computer but had mixed results. Might give it another go.

    thanks ..i use the UX1 but never thought of getting a proper amp mic'd up and inputting it through the usb...
    i always use the UX1 on its own , but this is handy to know..thanks..
    BTW..the gibson..is there a cut out of the top or is it the reflection..?
    i had to ask...

    yeah, works well with a MIC.

    No cut out of top, must be a reflection
