Default Rob Papen Sub Boom Bass!

I'm demoing this monster at the moment. Registration is a bit of a pain, uses syncrosoft. The licence will install to your dongle if you have one but you don't need a dongle to install the demo, you just have to download the syncrosoft software which is taken care of by the installer. You get 30 days or 30 start ups, which ever comes first.

I must admit I'm well impressed. I'll definitely be buying it and I'm sure it will be my "go to" bass instrument.

Anyone else got this Vsti? What do you think about it?

    I got this yesterday.

I don't really have an issue with a synchrosoft dongle, it works flawlessly and sits happily in the back of my PC never causing an issue.

I've already got Predator which SBB gets its sound engine from so I'm not seeing too much new yet, but I can see it's uses for sub and sequenced stuff.

I got my copy dirt cheap though so no loss if I don't really use it that much.

No, I have no issue with the dongle either. The licence for the sub boom bass goes straight onto my Cubase dongle. No problem for me but a lot of people hate them, just read the gear slutz furum.

How did you get it dirt cheap? I'm defo gonna get this so if you know something I don't then, spill the beans..... pretty please!! As far as I'm aware they don't do student discounts. Or do they? I got my Cubase 5 for under £260 that way.

    Cheers

Just happened to peruse the KVR market place before my bedtime the other night and a fella was selling his copy for £45. I bought it 4 minutes after he made the post

Best price I've found so far is Digital Village, just under £80. Still got some demo time left with this thing so I'm hanging back for now. I need to be sure I'm not falling for the old confirmation bias thing. The quality of bass I want is kind of elusive to achieve. I know it when I hear it but getting it just right it is another matter. I need to be sure this plugin will help bring me closer to it and, at the moment, I'm not totally convinced it will.

80 quid isn't bad I suppose but I'm not so sure it's the secret weapon I first though it was. I understand Spectrasonics are bringing out a new bass plug. Maybe that will have some of that the magic bass dust, although I wasn't terribly impressed with Trilogy. Maybe going back to hardware is the way to go (?)

I like Brothers Vibe and Mark Broom and such like.

    Cheers.

I hear that. Loadsa people rave about trilogy and I have used it in the past, but for me its always been a 'make do' bass module rather than the bass sound I was really lookin for.

I'm keen on the release of Trillian tho, the upgrade to Trilogy using the the same STEAM engine from Omnisphere, that might be the ticket for me, we'll see.

I just want a bass plugin with a "nice polished pro sounding" Knob. That would be the NPPS knob for short. In fact, that would be the only knob it needs have. Could be a slider, I don't mind.

Now I ask you, is that too much to ask?

I agree. In fact this should become the industry standard for all instruments software and hardware, just press a button or turn the dial to taste and hey presto NPPS, patent it quick.
