    Default Oh bollocks...serious Macbook problem....

It wont boot! I get the white screen for a while then I get an icon on the screen of a folder with a question mark in it.

So I tried booting from the install CD and the Harddrive does not show up in Disk Utility! Bollocks!

Im thinking I may need a replacement HD on to which I install OSX again.....is this what I need to do? Cheers for any help.

    try resetting the nvram

if that doesnt help then it looks like your hard drive is dead
easy enough to swap out though, hope you had some stuff backed up!

    Default Problem

Try holding down the shift key when it's booting up or the caps lock. Sometimes these put you into an engineering mode which you may have done by mistake.

    Hope you get it sorted!
