    Default Samplitude 10 SE

    Hi guys.

I purchased CM with Samplitude 10 SE on the dvd a few months ago.

Recently changed Laptops so re-installed Samp10 SE on the new one and went to enter the serial to 'reaactivate' but can't find the serial.

Samplitude activation wizard says it's on the CD but its not so I presume it's on the cardboard CD sleeve which I don't think I have anymore.

Looked all through the magazine but nothing there.

    I'm stuck?

Yes it is on the ..CHEAP CRAP CARDBOARD SLEEVE THAT NOBODY THINKS IS WORTH ***T UNLIKE THE OLD ONES AND THROWS AWAY!!!

But I didn't! Hi learn Mr Fawlty, hi learn! But much good may it do me.

This is the Achilles heel (for us punters) of the otherwise BRILLIANT Sam giveaway, getting it re-activated.

I have had one hard drive die on one pc and an enforced Cdrive format re-install on another. In each case the original DVD cover code did not work and you then have to bother the A off Magix to get it sorted, takes 24hours minimum.

I would happily BUY Sam 10se IF they could assure me that I will be able to re-install the software in the event of a pc crash. They can't or won't do that. So, Son and I put up with less than optimum machines because we dare not clean them out for fear of never getting the DAW back again.

I am sure you will, eventually, get Sam activated. CM might even send you another valid code (they did for me one time) but when you do get a code DON'T use it immediately, try this.

Format the C drive and re-install OS and minmum progs, then Sam and get it activated. THEN.. take an "image" or "ghost" of the drive. I am told by doing this you can format again when the pc craps out and re-install that image AND the activation will be valid still.

Don't know if this works but got to be worth a try!
    Now,
Anyone know of a good free imaging download?
    Dave.

Actually Dave I think the new small sleeves are much more attractive, prettier, and more environmentally friendly than the old plastic cases!

I hear Acronis True Image is a useful bit of software: www.acronis.com

    Hi Tim

Well, "You would say that wouldn't you?"

I had a nice line of the old ones on a shelf and I could differentiate them from the dross from other magazines and read the date etc on the spine (I say "had" cos Son's forked it all up looking for something. Probably on one of the new, crappy sleeves!).

I also notice Tim that you are strangely silent and unhelping about the OPs' problem? My apologies if you have PM'ed and sorted him.

    Dave.

    Gee thanks Tim!

Clicking on that link gives me an unescapable Internet Explorer Script Error ( I have to go Task Mang' and log off) .

Still, going direct to the site works (MR SNAFU?) so thanks, I will have a do.

Unfortunately not, I've had no response.

However it was partly my own fault for chucking the sleeve out I was just curious if there was anything that could be done?

"However it was partly my own fault for chucking the sleeve out"

Well possibly but Tim has not yet confirmed or denied my opinon that the code would be useless anyway!

***T 'Appen! Hdd's die, pcs get clogged and need a format, peeps buy new pcs and want to shift progs over. Not tho' it seems in the magical world of Magix!

If the "sub" scenario is..." FFS, the guy has HAD the magazine freebie for 3years! Our idea was to let people have a fullly working prog' and then ultimately they would buy it!

Fair enough, so say so! I have typed the fact ad.n. that I would be V.V. Happy to punt 50quid on a version of Sam but NOT if Magix won't play ball when things go wrong.

I like Sam a lot and USED to suggest it at every turn on forums when people were asking about sequencers, no longer. I tell them to get Audacity as a starter and Reaper when they need something more complex. I would not inflict Magixs' snotty attitude on others!
