Don't use a drill. You need one of these to open the holes to 3/8".



If you go slowly you should be okay.

Thanks for the tip. If I decide to give it a go, I'll probably have to order it online, as I didn't find one of those locally. I also suspect that if I do find one here, it will be with metric measurements.

This particular seller is not shipping outside the UK but there are other selling that type of reamer. I'll investigate further.

That'll be 9.5mm then.

Reamers are tapered so just

10 enlarge the hole a bit
20 try the pot in the hole
30 If pot fits goto 50
40 goto 10
50 end
