I bought a kit off Kev a good while back. Never got round to assembling it, but one of my pupils is an electronics whizz, so i got him to assemble it. Sounds great, brilliant size, was hoping to install it on my pedalboard, but it wouldn't work with my multi power supply, or even with a Zoom pedal power supply. I tried all the power supplies I had and the only one it works with is one from a cordless drill recharger, or failing that, a 9v battery wired directly. Any advice?

I got one a while back too, and it has been good. I don't use power supplies though (or pedals very often) so i just added a thingie for a 9V battery and put it in another enclosure.

Not that that helps over much, I guess...

First guess is that the DC socket is wired incorrectly

Tell me what's connected to what terminals on the socket.

Left it in the studio, but I'll get back to you, cheers!

If I was a betting man I'd say it's wired in reverse.

There's 3 lugs and one is perpendicular to the other two. That one is ground. The other two are positive, but you should only use the outer one. The one closest to the ground lug shouldn't be used.

Just leaped over to Youtube and listened to Niallmo's demo. He's done you proud, Kev, it sounds way cool, plenty of tonal variation and I am impressed at how well it cleaned up from the guitar.

That demo sounds pretty good, so how does it work then Kev ?

Looking at the pics, and with one transistor, it's not producing a square wave using a schmitt trigger type circuit (like the fuzz face with two transistors). I'm guessing it's a class A amp, with the DC bias of the input pulling teh signal up quite high so as to give maximum distortion and the volume knob is just a master volume on the output stage ?

are these the ones in the kits? just cause like a tool i bought the wrong dc jacks and need to use plastic boxes for some and was planning to use a transparent box and a mental bright led like the one in the kit!
