It's one of YOUR grail amps maybe. I don't need that much gain and I like that I can switch my Express down to 5w and use it in the house.

And I can turn my Mark IV down to 15w and use it in the house, what's your point?

Some great bands imho! Big Ramones fan here! They used JCM800's didn't they? Anyway ............my 2cents is that I have heard/read (but not personally) that 5:50's are a bit noisy - maybe someone can shoot that rumour down? I agree that MKIV is a classic amp (I've had 2) but VERY focused/directional amps I found but great clean and solo sounds. I never got a crunch that I liked. Not to say its not in there.

Never noticed it being noisy personally, other than obviously when the volume is turned up

My point is that something that's an all time grail to you, may not be to somebody else.
Likewise the Express might not be to everybody's taste - some people might not like Mesas at all

I don't think Grail amps have to be everyones taste.

I don't particularly like Twins, but it's still a holy grail!
