Anybody interested in homemade pickups?

My mate and I are planning on creating unique homemade pickups for diddley bows, cigar box guitars and so on. They won't sound like a Bare Knuckle or Di Marzio or anything, but then that's not what we're aiming for. We'll be doing pickups for instruments with 1 to 6 strings, a range of wooden caps, and probably wound to custom specs, single coils at first but humbuckers shouldn't be far behind.

We should have a prototype ready in the next week or so with lots of pictures and audio. Just wondering if anyone would potentially be interested?

There are a couple of people selling them there already, but you might have some luck at the Brit area of the Cigar Box Nation web site.

Also, worth visiting the Handmade Music Clubhouse, if you haven't seen it yet.

How much are you planning on charging for them?

I knew about CBN already but not the other one so cheers mate.

Not sure on price yet, but that should be hammered out within a week. Ted Crocker seems to be the only one selling them on eBay at the moment, so I guess our prices will be fairly similar, with lower postage obviously. Teds been pretty good when I've spoken to him in the past so I haven't got any desire to compete with him.

There is a fella called JuJu in Sheffield, I think, selling some too, but I'm not sure in what kind of quantities..

Ted Crocker set the other site up after a bit of a falling out with the Nation one, apparently, though dunno what the score was with that.
