Default swap a pair of G12H's for a pair vintage 30's..??

OK Ive got a pair of 8ohm vintage 30's Im not a partticularly a fan of these and prefer G12H's - if youve got a pair of G12h's (16ohm) laying around fancy a swap or let me know what you want for them..

    yes & no...

on the burn and crunch channels of the mesa theyre amazing... Make the amp sound so good.

But on the blues channel (with singlecoils) its 'bitey' if thats a description and not as smooth as 12h's...

Thing is if I get the 12hs Ill prob want the v30s back for the other two channels...

You should go 1 X GH12 and 1 X V30 and have the best of both worlds

That would be the ideal but wasnt sure wat the wattage difference would do (g12h - 30W V30 - 60w)

I'm no expert but think you just need to be more concerned with your Ohmages being correct between the two as plenty of people run a mixture of different speakers in a cab. It would just mean the cab has a power handling capacity of 90 watts. If you were planning on running 2 X G12H, this shouldn't be an issue as that would have only given you 60 watts of power handling as a result.

A G12H and a V30 is fine. It is technically rated at 60W though.

You can get creative and run an 8 Ohm V30 and a 16 Ohm G12H. That will route 1/3 power to the G12 and 2/3 to the V30. making you cab rating 3 times the lowest rated - so 90 Watts.

It will also make your cab a 12 Ohm cab - but as long as you set the amp to 8 Ohms not 16 all will be well. The amp may generate a little less Wttage in this format too - maybe by 10-15 Watts or so giving the speakers some headroom.
I would take a great song with Bad tone over Great tones in a shitty song anyday.
