    Default Recommendation

    Searched through the list and noticed no one had mentioned the guy I, and a few other MR users, use.

    Fraser Callum, Leeds. http://www.fcstrings.com/

    Really friendly guy and great setup and repairs. Based out of Horsforth, Leeds. Also works at PMT Leeds every Saturday.

    Default String Surgeon

    Don't know if this guy has been mentioned already!

    Shane Haigh in Wakefield. Very knowledgable guitar builder and all round tech.

    If you do a search for his name and string surgeon you should get results.

    Cheers.

    Jon.

    I recently found this chap - CA Guitarworks in Baldock, Herts. I was thoroughly impressed with the setups he did for me and I'll certainly be back.

    I can recommend Tim Marten in London. Yes, he's in Denmark Street... But I've had work done by him on three separate occasions now and it went well every time. Nice friendly chap, fast turnaround (3 days for the latest, which included a setup + fret stoning) and what seem to me like very good prices for central London.

    I was particularly impressed by the last setup he did for me, a 60s style strat with 7.25 radius and vintage frets - those can be a pain to set up right. Plays like oil-dipped butter now, with no fretting-out whatsoever past the 12th fret.

    Iancorps in Banbury / Oxford.

    Can't praise him enough;

    Reprofiled frets,
    Great setup and adjust nut slots and bridge.

    Plays fantastic, more than happy.

    Can vouch for LA Guitars in London (David and Haim, nice guys) and also Andy Viccars in Milton Keynes.
