Question The Ghost: v2 outline and scratchplate poll

    Hi all

Once again I call upon you for your opinion.

Simple really: which is your favorite body-scratchplate shape, A or B?
the image switches from one to the other every 5 seconds

P.S: I would also appreciate your opinion about the positioning of the through-holes.

Thanks for your vote, daveyh, I appreciate it.

Any opinion on the position of the through-holes?

    A.

On B the scratchplate doesn't follow the body lines on the upper bout - it looks sloppy as a result.

Through-holes are fine. Much better than the curve before. You might want to consider the effects on string-feel though (that's not to say that the position is wrong or that you haven't already).

I have tried to position them both from a visual and strings break-angle perspective.
AFAIK, the ideal setting for the latter would be:
    - narrow enough to allow for good strings/saddles pressure
    - wide enough not to make string-bending harder than it should be

Not having enough technical knowledge on the subject, I hope Neil will be able to advise me.

A and a less acute angle on the positioning of the through-holes I think

string holes are nice, straight lined up ones look 'meh' i like the angle muchly.

(can you get the string retainers on the back of the guitar fully recessed?)

The more string you have beyond the nut and behind the bridge, the more string you need to stretch to get a given pitch change. As it is you'll get easier bends on higher strings. This may be fine - it may even be desirable. It's just worth considering.
