    SE-5a 5W British overdrive amp
THATS exactly what i mean! one person less with interests! altough it is a kit or part of a kit the price is worth it! i worked about two weeks on this amp. and i am NOT working for free. i have to pay my bills and rent etc.
to be honest all the material only has cost me £375 plus postage £30 and then 12 hours work on the amp and 1 hour testing etc...

thank you GAS_man for effin up my attemt to sell something. it is like you tell everyone this is a bad product. in fact it is NOT.
i think i have the right to be upset after that.

No one has ever said this was a bad product, but as has been stated people have a right to know what they are buying.

Ampmaker kits have been spoken about many times on these forums, in fact i'm pretty sure that the guy behind ampmaker is a regular on here so its not like gas_man has pointed out a website that no one has ever seen before.

+1 to amp_man for his original post.

So we now know that the amp is a kit, how about the case, you said that it has been handcrafted and took a week to build, did you build it yourself from sheets of wood, or it that also from the ampmaker site?

Also your original 2 weeks to build seems to now have changed to 12 hours to build and an hour testing. That sounds more like 2 days work to me, and short days at that.

No-one has said it's a bad product, anywhere.

And all of us have the right to be upset after you deliberately withheld information. Who's going to trust you now?

Believe me, there's an awful lot that can't or don't want to build amps, but that shouldn't stop them from buying one from someone such as yourself. I have absolutely no axe to grid here - and would have been happy to see the last two lines of your response to my query without the "attitude".

I'm grateful you pointed out this amp is built from kit - not that there's anything wrong with this. I do not have the technical know-how to build an amp, even from kit, so I would be happy to pay someone to build it for me. Initially, I was very interested in this amp, believing this to be a 'boutique', hand made amp built by an independent amp maker. Now, knowing this amp has been built from kit and the OP did not state this fact, has made me rethink, because it now seems a tad deceitful not to mention this fact ... trying to pass it off as original design/build has dented my interest.

BTW: I haven't heard of, or seen, Ampmaker kits, hence I thought it was original design & build.

Funny, they look like the original ones to me.

Getting 10W rms from an EL84 (whilst staying cathode bias) would be quite a good trick.

I don't think you do have a right to be upset. Nobody has said this is a, "bad product". GM has said he built one of these amps and how good they are. None of the forum posters has criticised the amplifier only your 'attitude' in response to it being stated that the amp has been built from kit.

It's that you did not think it significant to mention this fact, thus implying it was 100% original in design and build, that has put me off [plus your subsequent attitude in response to comments made]. Your original post contained the following personal resume, which is what made me think the amplifier was 100% your creation:
"I am a professional Tubeamp builder in London! I build other Amps as well.
18watt, 40 watt, 100watt in all kind of cabinets: heads, full stack, 2x12" etc...
I also do Service and Repairs of ANY tubeamps!"

I would happily buy a kit built amp or fx pedal if i feel i could trust the seller, your posts doesn't instill confidence.
I lost interest in buying the amp because of your attitude to other forum members, not coz the amp has been built from a kit.
