to be honest all the material only has cost me £375 plus postage £30 and then 12 hours work on the amp and 1 hour testing etc...

thank you GAS_man for effin up my attemt to sell something. it is like you tell everyone this is a bad product. in fact it is NOT.
i think i have the right to be upset after that.

I shall inform my father in law of this.

He builds kit cars for people. Mostly for people who bought one and then found it beyond them, but sometimes the basic kit and then sells it.

By your argument he should be putting his name on it in place of Caterham or Westfield.

That kit looks so well laid out that even I could do it!

I'm having a cab built by Chris at the moment for my 50w JMP (a smaller one than the original so that it'll fit on my 2x12 cab) - I'll post some pics when it arrives

Chris and I have been in contact by email over the last few months. He seems like a really genuine guy and has always made an effort to accomodate my requests. I am sure your cab will be great!

I reckon the OP has bought the kit and the cab, soldered the kit and installed it in the cab (with or without a speaker, I don't think it has been mentioned yet).

If he had started the thread detailing that the above was the case, no problem. But he didn't and is frustrated that the truth has come out in the wash.

Yep, but rather niftily, in doping so, has managed to get more bumps than I get on my birthday, and that's quiet a lot!

listen up all of you. first of all to clear up the 12 hours / 2 weeks.
that was a missunderstanding on my behalf. it was meant that i have worked on the amp for 12 hours. but since chriss was busy and i had to wait for 2 weeks the completion took 2 weeks.
the price is calculated as follow: £150 for the kit, £197 for the cab,
£25 for the speaker which is a total of £372. then i paid for the shipping and also £20 to my friend who was nice and drove me all over london to pick up the speaker etc.
the 10 watt was measured with a meter a professional recording studio next door. in fact it was exactly 9.78 watts on the meter. and it also depends on the OT and the PT. there are no such things like "matched" transformers and i can tell i have done quiet a few amps (webber & ceriatone), so i know that this can be variable if you build a kit!
yes i did not tell this is a kit, might be my mistake and since i am new to this forum i had no idea this ampmaker kits have been discussed in the past. my apologies. but that does not mean i am a **** or a dotdgy seller or so. i always tried to be fair because everything comes back one day.
i might just had a few bad days. (have serious problems with my ashole landlord who does not pay electricity and council taxt as this is included in my rent and now causes trouble, but thats another story)

    my appologies

So is the extra 5W down to the modifications you claim to have done, or are you now saying it's just variation from one transformer to another? 100% variation from one amp to another seems a bit extreme to me.

I'm guessing then that it's 10W max, with a clipping wave form. So it's in fact still a nominal 5W clean, like the Ampmaker SE5. And just about every other single-ended, cathode biased, EL84 amp.

Sorry, not trying to be awkward, just curious as to what you did to double the power output.

Did anyone here really think this was anything other than a kit.

ok...first i did a mod with another tube. i will attach a picture of that.
at the moment the speaker inside is a 4 OHM and there it is so loud. when i have built the amp i used a 8 OHM speaker on the 8 OHM output, before i had the cabinet just for test purposes and it was clearly not so loud. so i sugest it must be the OT somehow. i removed the mod again since i did not really liked the sound.
