    Default les paul wiring harness

Just looked on Evil bay and seen a Hong kong "epiphone" one for 25 squids........Anyone any dealings with these? are they legit? any good etc? I got one of those bolt on neck, spray it yourself saga jobbies and the harness that came with it has dental floss for wiring ! so want to upgrade without spending a fortune as its only for fun and to learn how the wiring goes
or of course if anyone has one going ???

is it just the wire thats bad ? or do the pots, caps and switch look better on the ebay harness ?

might just be worth getting a few feet of decent wire.

    Hi,

I've got some used CTS premium long/ split shaft (4 x 500K) pots if they are any good? They are pre-soldered for '50's LP' wiring and I could bung some caps on to them if required?

No worries if not but I'm not needing them and would happily do a good price for either just them alone or them wired up with some caps too. You might need to widen out your guitar's pot shaft holes to accommodate these larger pots though just to be upfront as well.

    Cheers

Shugz makes wiring kits and he is famous here as I noticed for their quality.
You need to push him a little bit more...

Thanks Michal but no wish to be too SPAMmy I suppose. The OP might not want a real pro quality and/ or expensive kit for this guitar anyway as he's described it as a more a learning/ fun guitar etc. More than happy to help if I can but really no worries at all if not.

Had a look in the parts bag for other stuff last night and I also have a full Gibson Historic wiring kit as well (4 CTS-Gibson pots/ 2 bumblebee repro caps, all pre-wired ready to fit). Again, it's been used and removed from a Historic Gibson LP but that could also be quite suitable for the guitar in question here.

    Cheers

No probs at all Ian, was thinking if you wanted the long shaft pots and no caps £15 delivered, with caps £25 delivered. For the Gibson kit, going by the last one I sold via Ebay (I got £41 for it on there plus postage) then maybe £35 delivered on that one.

Like I said though, no worries at all if none of the above are suited Good luck with the project as well,

    Cheers
