    Default This Devastated Fan

is the name of a serious alt-rock band that you probably haven't heard of yet...

Weird band name, but with a cool story as to where it came from...

I've been supporting/following 'This Devastated Fan' since they first got together and know them well. Recently they found themselves a critical member short (bass player) immediately before a small tour so they asked me if I would step in and help (which I was happy to do).

Upon our return from the tour, they asked me if I would join the band full-time (which in truth, I wasn't expecting), but since the tour had opened my eyes as to how good this band has grown to become, I agreed.

I haven't been out and played in a band like this for a long time, so it's going to be an interesting experience. Signed to a small label and with management, This Devastated Fan are out and about, and most likely playing (or looking to play) a gig near you sometime soon, this is TDF:

There are a couple of TDF videos on the Audio Design Workshop youtube channel too:

Two albums and one single available on itunes:

If anyone likes this stuff, add wishes to be added to the band mailing list, send an email with the word "subscribe" in the subject field to thisdevastatedfan@rehearsal.co.uk

I'm sure I'll be posting more stuff on here about what I'm doing with these guys....

Any and all constructive comments or criticism most welcome and appreciated.

Wow, amazing stuff ... I really enjoyed it and I think the band has a great future.

Having heard your excellent guitar playing, does this mean your solo projects are now on hold?
“Jazz, isn’t that just a series of mistakes disguised as musical composition?”

    Thank you very much!

My other projects are not 'on hold' as such, they are all still active (with the support of the band and management, which is excellent). I'm still working on all the other projects that I've been doing for years, I've just been spending less time on them and more on 'This Devastated Fan' recently. I've been involved with so many different projects all at the same time over the last few years that I thought it was time to focus on this band, especially since the TDF songs are so strong, and the sound is distinctive, high quality stuff which is more commercially viable than any of my own futuristic prog-fusion projects or the acoustic/classical guitar things that I do.

Just watched video blog #1. Good bunch of lads. I watched to the end and I have a short attention span!

Now I'm watching the Surrender video. Excellent stuff. The vocal is Stereophonic like and it was ironic that the vid I watched was of the Welsh tour.

I wish them every success and if they come to Northern Ireland, I will probably go along for a look.

Thank you very much! I'm sure I'll be posting more stuff about what we're doing on here as things develop and we get more gigs and build the fanbase/mailing list.

That video for Surrender is quite old now. There are more video's to come which are a bit more up to date, and any and all constructive comments and critique would be most welcome!

    Thanks!

Just been informed that 'Jackpike' from Birmingham are supporting our gig in Wigan 21st May. We've gigged with these guys before and they are awesome! It's going to be a good night. Jackpike sound like this:
