Values of items for sale

The thing that has pissed me off especially the Boutique Amp Thread is that it gets quite a few posts everyday and is constantly at the top of the Classifieds which in turn bumps the genuine sellers (me) down the list!!!

OK, as a seller that might irritate you. As a buyer, that thread should give you confidence in knowing that it's damn hard to pull a fast one in this forum, and logically lends credibility to those genuine sales which don't get shit on.

However, the classifieds section here sees an awful lot of churn anyway - threads can be second page within a few hours. One more thread at the top isn't the end of the world

I'm active over at HCFX and there is a rule that says that you shouldn't question people's prices. Personally it works well there as it's kept the Spam threads very tidy. A person has the right to charge what they want for an item.

As we saw recently, the 'boutique tubeamp' thread did get jumped upon but not because of the price first and foremost. It was jumped on because of false claims made by the seller. That isn't criticising someone's price. It is criticising someone's honesty and questioning fraudulent behaviour. That was entirely right to do in my opinion.

If I put something up for sale and people want to say that it's too expensive, tough shit. That's my right. If it sells at that price, then good for me. If it doesn't and I have to drop the price, so be it.

Its a public forum, the classifieds is also a public forum - what would be the point in everybody communicating usings PMs? Its personal choice. If somebody thinks something is way overpriced then its their choice whether to express that opinion, they may be correct, or be shot down in flames, we have seen both happen. It works, and doesnt need fixing, but thats just my 2p worth.
