Which 'uns? I'm genuinely curious, 'cos I really ought to have a look at them.
the Bravia Z series are superb, and the Samsung LED(think its the 8000), if I had £1500 I would consider them but in the end a £700ish LG plasma would win. those LCDs are impressive though, just not the best VFM

I picked up a well reviewed 42" Panasonic 1080p plasma for £700 including a 5 year guarantee a year and a bit ago. So I'm 100% certain you can find one now.

    1st example I found

Type "1080p plasma" into google... it brings up plenty less than £900

I've seen both, and while the Samsung is a definite step forwards (the Sonys are cack until you've gone through the service menu) neither comes close to the Vieras. In my utterly-not-humble-at-all-I'm-an-arrogant-sod opinion.

37" would be ample for a room about 16' x 16 foot yes? Is this a good example of plasma telly?

1024x720 native so the cork-sniffers won't approve. Most likely the image will be fantastic though.

Was going through this recently and ended up going for a samsung lcd. The pq blew me away. It's not an led one but the blacks are properly black and the colours look warmer. Tis an LE40B65 and looked every bit as good as any plasma I saw.
