I've finally found someone to respray my Gibson Explorer Pro.

I am minded to go for Candy Apple Red with gold metal flake - I want something that will stand out on stage and be all "RAWWWKKK".

No, I'm not gonna go for artwork on the guitar...so a single colour.

What colours/finishes do folks suggest?

The singist in my band wanted a mirror finish like on my iridium bike visor - which might be kinda cool - but not sure how practical that would be.

To clarify - I've owned a pearlescent white guitar - and that was very Liberace - but from a distance and on stage it just looked white. I have a Kramer Nightswan that everyone thinks is black, but it is actually a very lovely sparkly purple colour.

I want something that will stand out on stage. Kinda like a Dave Lee Roth of the colour world.

Billy Gibbons had a furry guitar when I saw zz top last year, was ace

I don't think you'll really beat a mirror finish. The guitarist from Stone Gods had a mirror finish LP and while I wouldn't personally want one, it was pretty fucking rocknroll

After googling a bit - mirrored does look cool! Not sure how the finish would stand up to rock and roll life though...a scratched mirror would look a bit poo....
