    Default Cubase System 4

    Hi All,
I was about to buy the Steinberg Studio Case along with a Behringer SR2496 and an m-audio Transit card in order to continue working on my Cubase songs on my Powerbook then I heard about the Cubase System 4 bundle :

It consists of a USB2 audio card (with an XLR in pair) and Cubase SL2.
It is very cheap and will conclude my switch (I was previously using a PC which I recently sold).

    My questions now are :
Has somebody tried Cubase SL2 on OSX.
Preferably on either a new iMac or a Powerbook (I use an external Firewire800 HD so I guess the perfs should be similar than with an iMac).

    Thanks for your help !

I've been using SL on an iMac (G4/800) for a while now, and just installed in on my iBook (G4/800 as well) and it runs just fine. No problems yet.

That being said, I checked out that interface at NAMM this weekend. It feels VERY fragile, light, shoddy, I don't know...I wouldn't buy it and hope to work it hard for a year. I don't know that it would hold up that long. It felt very...I guess "cheap" is the best word to describe it.

    Thanks for your reply.
I'd actually connect it once and for all to my mixing desk, let's hope its components sound well enough.

Hi Jobu, what's so special about SX, the "profi" score editor or something else ?

No, sorry, I may not have been clear, sorry for this :
I already know this Blatt, the question I meant to ask YOU was :
OF all these differences, what are the ones that definitely make you want Cubase SX more than SL, despite the price difference ?

Personnally, I won't record more than 4 tracks are once and never send my tracks to an outside mixer.
I do not mind about the score edition which can only be better than in VST32 and I do not use that much plugins except, maybe, in Reason...
