1.I know for a fact that many of the ones that uses VST5/32 is using it because of the improvements on recordings among other things.
2.I use the scoring facillities , VST 5.1 score, because it gives me what I want in scoring options.
3.I know for a fact that better timestreching and pitching algorithms make a different, and many in this forum will agree with me. Read the forum and you'll see. If you don't hear the difference doesn't mean that there isn't one.
4.I know for a fact that having good realtime options in your recording environment is important to me, and many in this forum. Read the forum again and you'll see.
    etc
    etc.
But you don't have to believe it, if you don't want to. And it isn't the most impotant features of every computermusician, oh course it isn't.
    BTW.
So you think I want to buy SX just to be fancy or something ?

I'm guessing here, but I think it will ignore it most of the time.
My projects are actually quite simple : MIDI and audiotracks, no automations some eq, compression and panning. That's all...
It will load ok if the Plugins used in EQing, compression and panning is loaded into the sequenser first. I think the the booting of the sequenser will stop if it can't find the plugins. Normally it will tell that it's missing, maybe tell you to load it.
You have to try out this for your self. This is not a difference between SL and SX tho, but only for loading old VST files into SL or SX.
You just load in your old plugins to SX/SL and that should be ok.

Sorry mate it wasnt meant to be an arguement, you use SX for very valid reasons - i don't doubt that. The thing i find interesting is that the majority of cubase users used to own regular VST, whereas now they own SX which is a marvelous marketing coup by Steinberg (bless 'em) that they never managed with VST/32. I could get into suggesting that the only reason many people used VST/32 was because it was the version that was cracked - but i don't want to go down that road

I feel that SL tends to get forgotten about whereas it's more than enough for "most" people, in fact Cubase SE is probably more than enough for most of the users i come across but SX is portrayed as a much shinier - more likely to make something worthwhile - package - which is marvelous It's a bit like the Logic Platinum vrs Gold thing really. I just wouldn't want SL to be dismissed out of hand when it's an amazing piece of software and much better value for money. I'm just suggesting things and offering a different opinion - that's what forums are all about (i thought) and i certainly didnt mean to tread on your toes.

Mirko - i hope this thread has been helpful to you and sorry for getting in the way ops:

    Cheers

My feelings doesn't get hurt by a software debate. Have no personell feelings in such matters, and I didn't think you had either.

It's all fine for me, I have not especially detected anything wrong, just helpful people having an argument but definitely handling it fairly... at least at the end ;-)
