There should be a rule that you can only post once you have a post count of 10 or above. A lot of other forums do it and its very successful.

Why do spammers even post here? Do they honestly expect any of us to be interested in the shit they're advertising? Does anyone even click on the links? They can't be getting much business out of us. Pointless.

They post becuase MR is high up in the Google rankings. Thus when the Googlebots index the site their links are pushed up too, putting them higher in the search rankings.

Dunno - could be the former, or there's an automated approach - post the verification image with a picture of a scantily clad lady on a disreputable site, with "enter the code to see me naked". Get a human to do it for you...
