And of course, we're told exactly how much we all do want and need, every day, as thereformants post illustrates, so beautifully.

You may be falling into old familiar ways. I think you experienced something and it's important that you harness that energy to change you. If you try and change other people (or even stop to compare it with other people) you'll waste the vital energy this perception has given you.

I think when I discover something and stop to chat about it I'm distracting myself from actually doing the thing and I do that because I'm scared of failing perhaps scared of trying - it's much more easier to discuss, debate or talk.

It's like the beginning of James and the Giant Peach, if you're familiar with that.

One thousand long, slimy crocodile tongues, boiledin the skull of a dead witch for days and nights. Add the fingers of a young monkey, the gizzard of a pig, the beak of a parrot and three spoonfuls of sugar. Stew for a week, and then let the moon do the rest.

    Have 'em,

we may be told that, doesn't mean we have to listen.
None of you seem to understand; I'm not locked in here with you, you'll all locked in here with me.

not sure about your last comment, but I have no more evidence to support any position than you do, so we'll call it quits.
I might be confusing you with someone else.

That would be like being a peasant or a gypsy though.
That is the kind of change required but how many people would be willing to do that? I'm not. I doubt CR is. It makes me sound like a giant bastard when you phrase it in the context of this discussion but having experienced the luxury of living in the west Im not prepared to make that kind of concession.

We are lucky enough to be living in an area of relative plenty however the population as a whole faces scarcity. Further more within our lifetime, or if not our childrens, without significant advancements in alternative power, its highly likely we will be faced with energy poverty (ultimately energy is the universal currenc).

I was in no way trying to put down people who are willing to make that kind of change, it must be a very difficult thing to do and people who can do it deserve some respect.

I didnt tell you anything about how much you want and need, I only pointed out that natural resources are limited and we only enjoy such easy access because most of the world doesn't

I think so, we might need to go to bed when it gets dark, not watch television, (radio should be okay if they can transmit - maybe more local transmitters) using solar power to heat water - no internet - only acoustic guitars - it'd be some kind of hell :P

I think it won't come to that as satellites can capture more of the energy from the sun and transmit it to earth... microwave antennas can grab other energies from the sun. The point is we're irresponsible in our energy usage - and as with home-finances, pairs of socks and friends if we don't keep track of them we suffer the paranoia that we'll have none. Really it's just balance but it's boring
