Default FS: For all the Vai fans (Ibanez content)

It pains me to do this, but I've decided to sell my former weapon of choice - my Ibanez J-Custom RG8570, signed by Steve Vai.

It's a wonderful guitar, made by Team J-Craft (Ibanez' master build division) in Japan in 2002, with a slightly fatter Ultra profile neck (still slim and sexy, but not quite as twig-thin as usual), made of madagascar mahogany with a AAAA grade maple top, indian rosewood fretboard with offset abalone dots and matching headstock inlay and flame maple neck binding (yes, neck binding. It's amazing). The pickups are all USA Dimarzio - Evolution bridge, Blue Velvet middle and Air Norton neck, and it features a Lo-Pro Edge trem (the most respected Ibanez trem out there, that consistently out-performs original floyds) and a JEM-style recessed jack socket.

Put simply, it's one of the best Ibanez guitars you're ever likely to find, and it's been played and blessed by the master.

Condition-wise, it's very tidy on the front, barring one or two small pin-head dinks and some of the cosmo finish wearing off the metal parts. The back's pretty bashed up though, with quite a lot of buckle rash. There's a little fret wear, but nothing that affects playability in the slightest - it's still a proper ripper.

Included are a Team J-Craft hard case and a certificate of authenticity. £1500 new, if you can find one. I'm looking for £800 + P&P ONO.

    Nice!
