A totally stock and much battered Mexican Telecaster with the "wrong" bridge into a WEM Dominator Mk III.

SM57 up to the grille, another SM57 in the back pointing at the back of the cone, LDC about 6 feet away in the room.

Occasionally supplemented with an EHX Hot Tubes (the valve one) for mild grit/drive.

Astonishing. Best valve amp sound I've ever heard. Definitive Tele sound.

I have a Mk3 Dominator too with the G12 greenback celestion it was my first proper amp - I remember I just wanted an amp and me and my mate found it in an Accordian shop, paid something like £25 for it. 3 pickup les paul > tube screamer > wem = sensational sound . As kids we just stumbled on something, happy days.

My late hamster, Horace, had quite the taste for the WEM Dominator. It was the first amp I ever had (on long term loan). He chewed clean through a good few wires
