    Gotta love the tax

I just paid the equivalent of $6.89 USD per US gallon today.
Loud and clear. Loud and clear.

So - I assume that in Europe, UK, Scandinavia et al, that petrol prices are quoted by the liter, no?

So if I had a switch that went from X per Gallon to - X per liter (as well as what, "kilometers per liter" ?) That that would satisfy MOST musicians over there?

And obviously I'd have to permit the range to go much much higher to accommodate those places where it's crazy expensive.

Finally - my musician friends here in the US are permitted to deduct business expenses from their taxes - currently any business travel is deductible at $0.55 mile, which is a godsend for musicians who travel a bit. Is there an equivalent in the UK? I'm guessing that if you're LMAO then the answer is "um... no". Please confirm

Generally speaking in mainland Europe they use litres and kilometres.

In Britain we use miles and gallons (fuel is sold by the litre, but people generally know the miles per gallon of their car better than the miles per litre!)

In continental Europe they'd quote mileage figures in km/l but in the UK we're odd - we price in litres but quote mileage in m/gallon (and till have miles on the signposts) Some old habits die hard you see :-)
    Red ones are better.

Oh no, we can be more complicated than that. The British still think in miles per gallon, even 'though we now buy our petrol in litres. The other Europeans think "litres per 100 kilometres". On top of that our gallon is bigger than yours: the US pint is 16 ounces, and the British pint is 20 ounces.

You best approach is to follow mainland Europeans, and price fuel as "X per litre", and consumption as "litres per 100 km".
