It's all down to the individual but I prefer REALLY light picks and they have to be Delrin too. None of that matt Tortex stuff thank you very much. So Dunlop 0.46's for me.
I just wish they'd would make them in a better colour! Although I don't lose many.

I like Dunlop Tortex in Green (.88) and blue (1.0). They seem to suit me best. I used to use the pink (1.14) but stepped down.

I'm fairly heavy handed, so I use .88 Dunlop nylon picks; which I find are just thin enough for strumming, yet stiff enough for picking.
I often try other brands and thicknesses, but always go back to my regulars.

Do not and will not use anything thicker or thinner than 1.5mm. I used to use thicker, but was uncomfortable. Tried thinner and they bend, which is entirely useless.

1.5mm Dunlop Gator Grip are awesome, don't bend, but sit in my hand nicely, also feel nice.

Tried a metal pick for a while which was frankly awesome! But it literally took chunks out of my strings, was having to change them once a month, even twice a month, which is bad, strings tend to last me a good 6 months.

Dunlop yellows. Gotta be that matte dusty finish- I can't handle shiny picks!

I don't think it's just thickness that matters - the material does too.

Thickness affects grip, stiffness affects the feel and (arguably) the sound.

One of the instructors at the Guitar Institute (as was) used to check our picks and say:

    'If it's thin,
    it goes in the bin'

    - other instructors were more tolerant, encouraging us to experiment.

I've always used thick, hard picks, though I'm not fussy which type.

Dunlop 1mm picks for me - Black with the cross-hatched grip thing towards the top.

Picks that are significantly thicker, thinner, larger or smaller just feel wrong to me now.

People who use thin picks for strumming, have you tried gripping the pick less tihgly you get some play allowing thicker picks to still sound OK strumming (although still not as nice as fingertips).

I find it very important... too thin and the picks bend too much and I drop them, too thick and they don't bend enough and I drop them

    I use the green ones
