Default What are some fun guitar songs for beginners?

What are some easy, rock songs for beginner guitar players. Preferably a song that I will be able to play the whole thing, not just one riff

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynryd
Knockin On Heavens Door - Bob Dylan
Riders On The Storm - Doors
Sultans of Swing - Dire Straights
Rock 'n' Roll Star - Oasis
    Wishing Well - Free

    Cocaine - Eric Clapton

    * some of the songs do have lead parts that you may have to practice for a while before you get it right.
“Jazz, isn’t that just a series of mistakes disguised as musical composition?”

    Bad Moon Rising?

Dunno if it could be classed as "fun" but Wild Wood by Paul Weller is very simple.

I never think anything by Paul Weller, but I just checked out the chords and it's been added to my must learn strum-a-longs. Ta!

    Mr Jones - Counting Crows

When I were't lad, it was "House of the Rising Sun", even though it does contain the dreaded barre "F"

First songs I teach are Buddy Holly (three-chord strummers) or Highway to Hell (three-chord riff).

How can you possibly play the required bass F with that abomination?
