Its not my cup o' tea, but I actually kind of like it. The only problem is that its not loud enough or maybe its just me.

well im glad that u liked it, the reason thats its possibly not loud enough is cause of the mastering which is not quite finished yet. I will get on to that at some point. cheers for the reply

well for this tune i mainly used cubase sx3 and Minimoog V along with a couple of effects etc.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they think of the mastering. Im pretty new to the whole EQ 'ing, compression and making room for each sound in a track. I know myspace compresses the shit out of everything so im happy to put up a download link if anyones interested?

    Hi Jimmy,

    Listening to Faulty:

I'll be completely honest here, I'm not a fan of that bassline at all, but I think that's just my own personal taste. I like the timestretched vocal you've got, and that clicky perc is pretty damn tasty. Fitting little sounds sprinkled throughout help push this track forward.

Not a bad little tune, although I found myself wanting it to lift off a bit more near the end - a la Soulwax's NY Excuse or LCD Soundsystem's Thrills.

thanks for the quick feedback. I can definitly see that adding some random sprinkled sounds could help, so im gonna hav a go at that. I havnt heard either of those tracks u listed but im gonna find them and check em out too. But generally it sounds like im on the right path. So, Cheers.

The bassline's fine - reminds me of Blue Monday a bit (not accusing you of plagiarism or anything). It does seem to lack that 'big' sound (which you personally attribute to mastering, so I'm sure that'll change soon enough).

    Love the glitchy percussion.
