I don't think this improved the tune. The guitars is melting together with the rest of the mix and is making the mix too busy. In my opinion the first attempt was better, better separation. I was thinking of a more upfront and distinguished guitar sound, more of a breaking part than this was. The tune is quite long so it needs a break, bridge or whatever you will call it.
The track was ok, and this doen't improved it, so remove the guitar.
    My humble view, tho.

First version was pretty darn good. Perhaps a touch "ploddy" and lacking in push, but great positioning and EQing of everything in the mix - clear as a bell.
Guitars, effects, a computer, Logic Pro, effects, some more effects ... oh and some effects.

Good to hear something from you again.
The production is very well done - especially on the drums - the reverb on the hats and the puch of the kick and snare are excellent.
It is a shame the melody and feel are so 80s, though.

I like it even more once the wanky guitar comes in.

I have a mind set in the 80s. That's true... Good you liked the drums, it's always been hard for me to program drums. Here i played with 5 layers (cymbals, rock drums, a 808 set and other two layers of hits and effects). The mix was made with the only couple of monitors i have, the Behringer Truths, so i must have calibrated them well if the mix translates in a good way in your systems.

Yesterday i received a PM from one of the editors, so the track will probably be mentioned on the next issue of CM. Result!
