I've got a paiste setup, and i love it. Great for heavy rock style stuff (got a mix of 2002 and 602 crashes). If i wanted something a bit lighter, a 16 and an 18 A custom is what I'd go for.

I've got a great Z Custom Ride, but Z crashes have always been too heavy and "raaaawr" for my liking

    What would be a better combo, 16" A Custom & 17" A Custom or a 16" A Custom and an 18" A Custom? A more, beneficial combo lets say.

mate, do us all a favour. go to your nearest cymbal stockist and try some out. its the BEST way to find what you want. No amount of forum discussion will give you the definitive answers.

    Bingo.

It's what drum shops are for! If you have mates that play, have a good nose at their setups and see what works and what doesn't.
