Default Lack of discussion in the GT forums.

Does anyone recall the heady salad days when this forum was used by people to discuss music and playing guitar.. rather than grumble about any of the following:

    1) My hero isn't tabbed in GT.
    2) Someone I don't like gets too much attention.
    3) Repeated tab. (over a 10 year period.. jeez)
    4) My genre isn't covered adequately in GT.
    5) A genre I don't like gets too much coverage in GT.
    6) Repeated tab.
    7) Editorial issues i.e might uncharitably be called: being pedantic and didactic.
    8) Reuse of photographs.

Perhaps I'm naive but a well-phrased letter written to the editors might get you letter of the month and a few goodies as well as the change you want.. whereas turning up on a loosely affiliated forum* to complain doesn't seem constructive.

I like what you did there!

And yes, there is too much moaning in this forum. Should be more about the music in this section, especially since the t'other is the OTathon.

I'd like to complain about the polls used in this forum. Five choices is too many... I'm incredibly indecisive, and I feel the GT forum polls just aren't catering for someone of my indecision level. I'd try the TG forum, but I've done the Hammett or Slash poll several times.

Actually I edited the polls as the first time around I thought they were too confusing and after a space realised they were the same answers ops:

Heaven forbid people should have an opinion other than yours.
It prompts enough response to justify its means.
The mag is predictable though. Hence the incessant moaning about it. In the end I lost patience with its direction (and many more have commented similarly) and withdrew my subscription cash.
I spend it on beer and pasties and feel i get more value for money
If you dont like the moaning then dont listen to it.
Forums arent love ins. They are for comment.
I look forward to your altogether predictable response though

Nb: the editorial team responded several times to complaints on the forum - both directly and indirectly (hence it is proven).

I'd like to complain about the lack of bass tab.

Simple rule to apply - If you can't find a bassist who can play it and you have to get Mr Humphries to play it with a [shudder] plectrum and an octave pedal then it is worthy of being tabbed so a BAND might be able to give it a shot, rather than just some masterbatory-esq playing over a backing track, by a lone bedroom based guitarist.

Now - go and TAB some Attention Deficit if you think you're hard enough.

[If it isn't that hard then there is no need really]

Mamas & papas combination pram, carry cot, car seat, and pushchair attaches to chrome chassis, grey check, includes, 2, bases for car seat, rain cover, and more, good condition.

    £100 ono.

Seriously though, I'd be interested in how many readers each of the 3 Future guitar magazines have. My opinion is that Total Guitar has evolved over the years (not a bad thing, but it wasn't what I wanted so I stopped subscribing) and Guitar Techniques is a bit like TG used to be in the early days.

Sort of agree. GT appears to settle on specific genres and its clear what they are from its tab and its reviews - despite what one or two may claim. I prefer Guitarist of the 3 but in the end i stopped all 3 subscriptions and got Guitar and Bass just cos its got the variety of TG and Guitarist without the TG writing style of a 12 year old.

 okay, so if I train a spider to come when I whistle and cut off all it's legs, it's safe to assume it's ears are in it's legs? It's hardly scientific saying "they do sometimes therefore it's FACT"
