    WOOHOO!!!!

i thought they seemed alright, not amazing but pretty dam good at what youd want from a vintage marshall, although im not sure theres going to be enough gain to call it a "modern" amp. Still, id have one to compliment my rivera, which i still love and thankfully, dont regret buying lol!

I think the amp sounds like a JCM900 with more bass. Dont think the amp has any vintage tone in it at all, thats just my opinion. If you play metal or hard rock the amp will be perfect..I thought the guy got a really good Guns and Rose's sound out of the amp.

They're very plain looking aren't they? Well, the combo defintiely is, it looks like those really bloody awful 30W solid state things Marshall made in the mid '80s before Peavey pushed them totally and utterly out of the solid state market pre-Valvestate.

Not heard them yet though, but Marshalls rarely get me excited, apart from the old Artiste and the clean channel of the Mode Four.

Was the Marshall DVD included in the subscribers copy? It wasn't in mine. However, I have seen the DVD in the copies of guitarist in shops.

Anyone here with a subscription who got the DVD included?

Hmmm.... I've just thunk, and coming to think of it, much as I always stick up for marshall when people slag them, they have only made one amp I'd ever use.

Good job it *is* the one I use

I didn't like the sound of the vintage modern at all. Good to hear that they've still got British manufacturing plants 8)

Tom, dunno whether it'll be a bit too much amp for you or not but have you considered a TSL?

Very disappointed with the DVD especially the factory visit. Those guys should look at work by Norm Abram or Duncan Stewart about factory visits. Poor camera work and very stilted speech, they should have got some professional to do the presentation rather than Paul Marshall. His constant reference to Mr Marshall sucks as the Americans say.

    Good idea, badly done.
