    First impressions: good!

    Some hints:

I think the drums need beefing up probably with a bit of EQ, add a bit more bass maybe. And add a sprinkly of reverb to make them "bigger". Not too much though or you'll end up going 80s.

Guitar part is quite boomy and a bit wooly. Try putting the reverb down to about 15% in the mix, and add a bit of top end. Maybe get rid of some mids and only have a little bass on there.

Just a bit of polishing though really!

I'd echo everything Bob says - sounds pretty good to me apart from a bit of spit and polish

    Thanks very much for that.

OK, so I'll lesson the reverb a bit. I'm never quite sure what 'top end' etc means. If I add an EQ plug-in (I'm in Tracktion), that's where such things are altered, right? This could be a painful process for all concerned!

As for the drums etc, they're all in Bezzer's ace backing track so I can only treat them all as one - does the backing need to be a bit higher in the mix?

That's a great start thanks, Bob. I'll make the changes and then see what you think.

All opinions and help gratefully received!

Yup, I pretty much agree, less reverb, bit less bass and a bit more treble.

If it would help I'll send you the bass and drums as seperate files. Give me a chance to try out my new drum toys tomorrow anyway

Only if you want to - I don't want to be a nuisance (I realise I am, but I don't want to be!).

I'll try to get time to mess with the production later, but I've got to go shopping now!
