Default Splitting rolls between hands and feet

When you're splitting say a tom roll over hands and feet (for speed) what "sticking" do you use, I assume singles are easiest but what do you lead with ie/

    hand(r), hand(l), foot(r), foot(l)
    foot(r), foot(l), hand(r), hand(l)
    hand(r), foot(l), hand(r), foot(l)

    or something else?

If I have understood the question correctly; it depends on what sort of sound/fill Im trying to create or play, but usually, its all of the above They all sound different when played so, its whatever you like I guess!

The easiest for me is hand(l), hand(r), foot(r), foot(l) which is a slight variation.

You could always try triplets, which is slightly easier as its 1 less thing to play, but still sounds cool?

Interesting, id not have thought of trying it asymetrically, I'm trying for Danny Carey sounding fills but theyre too fast for me to tell what he's leading with

Yeah, thats a problem I have, too fast for me to work out whats going on. So I give up on such things and just do it my own way instead

Be careful not to get hung up on 1 particular way of doing it, learn them all, and get good at them all.

I'm brilliant leading such fills with the left hand, but if I try to switch, its bloody hard!! Must practice more.....
