    Default Deftones on the DVD

What is the point of this exactly? Why not get him to play guitar instead of talking, talking, talking and repeating boring nonsense!

That german guy is very good though and the acoustic song is lovely.

    Cheers

Wish we'd thought of that. Playing theguitar...? Cool concept.

Maybe you could watch that section again and see if you can work out just why he didn't play any guitar. Believe me, we were lucky to get what we did from him...

He did look a little emotional.

I am very grateful for the rest of the DVD though, just so you don't think I sound too much like an ungrateful ****!

Ok. First reply to one of these, but I am a long time lurker. I really thought the Deftones guy this month was really inspirational. Ok, he's not a traditional guitar hero, but I thought everything he said was inspiring. In fact, compared to a lot of the interviews we see in guitarist, he was amazing. Also, please don't forget the incredible Tommy Emmanuel. Awewsome, as alaways.

    I'd agree...

It's all about choice and, if El Steph didn't float the boat, there is enough to be getting on with thanks to the more conventional brilliance of messers Blug and Emmanuel!

Anyone who plays guitar like he does while being really really stoned has my respect.

I'm a huge fan of the Deftones and I'm sure anyone on here who has ever drunk a shandy or even been in the same room as naughty smoky drugs would appreciate that it's still possible to play a few riffs on a guitar.

I'd have loved to have seen him play through a few of their old pop hits or even talk about his guitars and sound a little more.

Good to see that someone agress with me in this month's mag. Shame Guitarist are still being quite stubborn about it. They don't seem to...understand.
