    Default Todays werkz

After a week stint of virus induced re-installation I decided to blow away the cobwebs with a new track.

Usually I dump such fleeting noises, but I've decided I like this one so far and will continue with it.

We've recorded some vocals for the intro and will record the main body of the vocals tomorrow, hopefully! The piano that's in the track now represents roughly what we'll be doing with teh vocals.

This is only todays work though, so plenty left to do still!

Ah, feeling a little relief today, thanks. Just had toasted cheese.

Usual standard of excellence G! ONE DAY!!

I've missed loads on here, I hate it when stuff slips through without comment.

you're brave eating toasted cheese after teh illz

Here's a very, very, very rough vocal take. It's kinda out of tune and in the wrong kind of voice (we did it just after mrs teh was doing some classical scales so it's a little bit laaaaaaa!)

Gives you an idea of where it's going though

I just listened to the first one, sounds really professional and its interesting to me how you left the space for another part that presumably you'll drop in later. I hardly ever structure my songs in advance (which might be why my structures are so weird) but I think it's something that could really help with getting from the bunch of ideas stage through to a full track stage.

This is the first time i've taken this approach so thoroughly and I have to say it's paying off at the moment. I even (shock horror) stopped and extra stuff and got the track to a virtually finished structural state, which I never do!

The rough vocal take just slipped in no problem at all with minimal tweaking and I suspect it'll be even easier with a well sung, well recorded take.

    Horribly sensible really
