What's with this BFG Les Paul ?

What does BFG stand for ? Big Friendly Giant ?

And why do they feel the need to make a LP with no paint and half the parts missing ?

Give it a "faded cherry" look, and a full complement of switch tips/covers etc, and I'd be interested...

The weird thing is that despite many misgivings I found it quite addictive to play. Much as the phrase is a bit naff, there's a definite 'vibe' to it, it feels quite inspiring, you just want to beat the hell out of it and play really agressive riffs on the thing.

Is this the one with Gary Moore on the front?

I must admit, I didn't buy it because of his face, but there seem to be some interesting reviews there so I might have to go get it.

Mmm I wants a BFG badly.

Mine was £640, which for a real Les Paul, just no paint job is a proper bargain. And as it looks like it does I dont worry about it getting roughed up. Great sounds from the Burstbucker 3 and P-90, very noice to play and looks a lot better in the flesh than it does in pictures.

For reasons various, the BFG is the only LP any sane mortal would consider buying.

I can't believe I have to wait another month for the review of the new Yamaha 112V.

You may laugh but from my point of view, looking to buy the guitar which will probably be my main instrument for the first couple of years f my pro career, I'm anxious for details.

As for this month's issue - not bad at all.
