    Default How does one...

    (speak in brackets)?

In the interview with Mr. EVH, he begins his sentence in brackets. What is this in real terms? A mumble?

Subtext. To clarify what could be seen as an ambiguous comment.

Many readers might not know who Mike Ulrich is, hence that set pf brackets. I didn't until I started chatting to him about the amp a few months ago.

And before Ed actually said it was 'about two years', he was talking about something else, so I simply put 'it's been' in brackets to save starting a sentence with the far less grammatically-correct (in that case) 'two years'.

Hope that makes sense (you tw*ts).
